Birdstyle by D’Arcy, Gordon (Signed)

Description

Birdstyle is a striking compendium of over 100 familiar Irish birds, combining the rigours of science with the imagination of art. Each bird is presented in a dual page layout: on one side, expert ornithological insights and a trueto- life vignette; on the succinct five-line verse alongside a stylised colour image influenced by Celtic La Tène art.
Rooted in the ‘inscape’ philosophy of Gerard Manley Hopkins and the minimalism of Japanese poetry, this collection is a celebration of the essence of each bird. Unapologetically imaginative and beautifully curated, Birdstyle is the ultimate tribute to Irish nature for the modern collector and bird lover.
